A recently married Robert Dunsire, a miner now living in Denbeath in Fife, chose The Royal Scots when he volunteered for Army Service. He enlisted in Kirkcaldy on 6 January 1915. Robert was soon on his way to join the 13th Battalion at Glencorse Depot in Midlothian before heading to Wiltshire for preparation for frontline action in France from July 1915.
